“ | It’s amazing what people can and will adapt to, if given enough time. They had the evacuations down to a science by now, and even with an emergence, the fields kept them from doing any real damage. They didn’t even have to stop the trains this time, he wouldn’t be late after all. | „ |
~ Trevor Henderson, telling the story of how the humans dealt with the first Giants. |
The Bird Watcher is an unusual creature made by Trevor Henderson. Though its size may dwarf many of the other Giants, this creature is non-aggressive and prefers to ascend and observe humans peacefully.
Appearance[]
The Bird Watcher depicts a gigantic bipedal entity looming over a city landscape. It has two large, backwards-bending legs that are human-like in appearance but end in stubby feet like that of an elephant. Its torso is thin and almost resembles a humanoid torso, this torso is connected to its head by a thick neck, almost blending with each other. The creature’s head is smaller in proportion to the rest of its body and is lined with four massive eyes on each side.
On the tip of the head are two strange, thin appendages that seem to extend up beyond the skies. The underside of its body is teaming with many large, yet short tentacles or tendrils. Its entire body is covered with glossy white skin, seen to be quite thick and wrinkly. Birds also seem to be flocking around it, hence its name.
From what we can see in the image, the creature can be estimated to be a whopping 1.5 Kilometers/0.93 Miles tall, or possibly more.
Behavior and Origins[]
Due to the creature’s impressive size and unusual nature, The Bird Watcher is almost certainly a member of The Giants. Its appearance suggests that it is a Giant that collects people that are worthy and brings them to salvation. If there are no worthy humans nearby, it is certainly capable of destroying unworthy humans and surrounding structures, however it does not choose to do this.
Interestingly enough, The Bird Watcher is one of the few Giants that actually have eyes, and many if them at that. Many people have speculated that it uses these large eyes in order to better view it’s environment for humans that are worthy and not worthy. Most other Giants typically feel around or simply wander randomly, however The Bird Watcher’s seem movements more calculated and intelligent.
From the caption shown, it must have arrived on Earth before The Giants became aggressive and started collecting/killing people, as the humans have adapted to their peaceful nature by creating fields for them to roam around in, which would not be the case if they were aggressive. This could suggest that it may have been observing people during that time, seeing if they were being sinful or kind, and somehow relaying this information to the other Giants. This could be what it’s head appendages are used for, to signal whether or not the people in a region are good people, sending this message psychically or telepathically to other Giants.
Abilities[]
Other than it’s obviously capable size, it is able to use extend the tendrils on the underside of it’s body in order to abduct people and ascend them. It also has very good vision, on account of it’s multiple large eyes, meaning it will be able to track you down fairly well. It may also have some form of telepathy or supernatural abilities that allows it to inform other Giants of what it has seen, which is further backed up by how it is stood up, as it would be physically impossible for it to carry it’s weight in that position without falling over or being off-balanced. We can see that it may also attract birds towards by some unknown means. For the reasons stated earlier, it’s possible that may follow different laws of physics than us.

Trivia[]
- On one occasion, Trevor has referred to it as “the kaiju centipede thing”.
- This suggests that it may be of a similar species or properties.
- Trevor has agreed that it is “a real big friend”.
- This would imply that it is not an aggressive Giant.
- Trevor feels that in this universe, by now it's such a non-emergency that the unnamed worker stated in the caption of the post will try and blame the "kaiju centipede thing" (The Bird Watcher) and his co-workers will call that excuse nonsense due to how much humans adapted to Giants that time.
