|“||You’ve heard that urban legend about alligators in the sewers? I used to be a city worker, i know for a fact that that is grade A bullshit, my friend. It’s not alligators. It’s spiders.||„|

The Sewer Spider is a terrifying creature made by artist Trevor Henderson.
The Sewer Spider depicts four, long spider legs and a small part of it’s abdomen peeking from a hole above a sewage system, hence it’s name. The legs are of varying lengths and each have three flexible joints. There are a number of hairs or spikes that appear to cover a large portion of it’s legs, but not the abdomen. The skin of the creature is a glossy white tone that cover it whole.
Behavior and Abilities
Judging by the caption provided by Trevor, the creature shown is not one of a kind, but one of many arachnids that inhabit the sewer systems of the city. It is unknown if the spiders inhabiting the sewers are a single specie or multiple species of different spiders, though it is most likely the latter. It also tells us that the creature is aggressive or predatory, comparing them to alligators.
From what we can see of the spider, it has many small hairs covering it’s legs, which may be used similarly to a Tarantula’s hairs, which is for offensive and defensive purposes. Like a Tarantula, it may be able to flick it’s hairs towards a target, irritating them, or in the case of a spider this large, stabbing them. The hairs may also actually be stingers used to powerful deliver venom to it’s prey.
It is still currently unknown if it has any relation to the spider that Slid Down The Clouds, as they appear very similar to one another, perhaps The Sewer Spider being a younger version of it.
- There are multiple sightings of possibly the same creature or same species of creature in Trevor's other work, notably Slid Down The Clouds.
- The way it’s appendage dangle down in the image is reminiscent of The Arms In The Vent.
