Not much has actually changed around here, we're too far from the city for that. It gives us lots of warning. You can hear the birds screaming around it for miles before the footsteps even cause the shake. And nobody bothers us over here at ground zero. They have enough troubles.
~ A person describing the effect that the Giant had on civilization.

The Avian Giant is a large creature made by Canadian horror artist, Trevor Henderson. It originates from a post in 2018, and is a member of The Giants. This creature, while being one of the smaller members of the group, has unique abilities to further help it cause mass destruction.

Appearance

The Avian Giant depicts a towering, bipedal, vaguely bird-like creature wandering a somewhat wooded area near a city-like environment.

Its entire body is covered in a pale white skin, which appears to be very wrinkly, almost as if it is underdeveloped. Its torso is rather large, yet seemingly emaciated. The general body structure of the creature is also very strange, resembling that of a tadpole, except its rib cage is located where the tadpole's head should be, and from there is a thick neck, leading to the head(s).

The head of the creature is very much bird-like, with a long, thin, and rather sharp beak, that has the upper portion larger than the bottom. The beak of the giant also seems to be covered with skin, unlike a normal bird. The creature's head does not appear to posses any eyes in its sockets, nostrils or any other sensory organ, for that matter.

Just below to the side of the creature's head appears be some sort of strange, pincer-like body part that is similar to the creature's beak. There is another one of these strange body part, this one being bigger and located on it's far left torso. This one also seems to have an eye socket and a number of small tendrils.

This may imply that these pincer-like organs are actually other heads of the creature, with the one on its neck being slightly less developed that the one on its torso, and even more so than the original head. The head on the torso also seems to have one of the creature's limbs protruding out of it, located near the small tendrils.

The long arms, or possibly legs of the creature protrude from the torso, at just about where the rib cage is located. As previously mentioned, the left leg is coming out of one of the creature's secondary faces. These limbs are surprisingly thin for its size, and can seemingly bend in any direction. It is unknown what the feet of the giant look like; they may end in bird feet or elephant-like stumps.

Behavior and Origins

Very little is confirmed about this creature's behavior and where is comes from, but we do get some interesting information from the image's caption.

The caption "Not much has actually changed around here, we're too far from the city for that. It gives us lots of warning. You can hear the birds screaming around it for miles before the footsteps even cause the shake. And nobody bothers us over here at ground zero. They have enough troubles." implies that the creature tends to wander around city areas. The author acknowledges this, saying that they are in a much safer location, which is far away from the city.

As for its origins, it is obvious that it is a member of the infamous Giants, based on its massive size and pale, animal-like appearance. There is also a small amount of mist surrounding it, further indicating that it is a Giant. From this, we can surmise that it arrived on Earth from the overlapped spaces, which was evident by the appearance of a second Moon, as told in the caption for the Tendril Giant.

As a Giant, the creature would either be a Collection Giant or Destruction Giant (The possibility of it being an Observing Giant is ruled out, as it lacks eyes). Judging by the image and caption, the beast seems to be causing a great deal of chaos and destruction in the city, which leads us to believe that it is a Destruction Giant. Although, it does also have tendrils on the sides of its body, these tendrils don't seem long enough to abduct humans. It's possible that these tendrils are actually just another head that has yet to take form.

It would probably move very quickly and erratically, wagging and wiggling its torso while pecking at whatever or whoever it wants to destroy. This Giant does not seem to posses high intelligence, as it is much more animal-like, both in behavior and appearance.

Abilities

Other than it's immense size that is capable of overpowering humans and other forces that come in it's way, much like the other Giants. Its large legs and tail could be used to crush, whip and fling virtually anything in its way.

Being a Giant, it has certain perks that is shared by various members of the group, those being: mist manifestation, functioning properly without sensory organs and defying the normal laws of physics. It also seems to have a strange connection to birds, as it seems to be able to attract them to it, and cause them to scream when near it. This bird-attraction ability has also been observed in The Bird Watcher, Misty Guest 3, and the Tendril Giant.

Trivia

  • The caption is interesting, as the person describes their current location as "ground zero", a term which means a location where a major activity took place.
    • This may imply that their location is the place where the Giants first started appearing, or at least in their country.
  • It is possible that the creature is actually a mutated bird rather than a member of The Giants.
  • It seems to have an extremely rapid regeneration factor, to the point where it is growing and regenerating unnecessary body parts.
  • It is one of the shortest Giants, only being about as tall as the Giant Puppeteer.
  • Despite its torso defying gravity, it does still seems to be grounded and even causes powerful footsteps.
  • This Giant may have been one of the earlier ones to appear in the country that the person in the caption is residing in, as there appears to be a scarcity of Giants in their area.
